Acceptable use
Use the app legally and responsibly. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Attempting to disrupt the service, reverse engineer it, or access it through automated means without written consent.
- Using the app or AI tutor to generate content that is harmful, illegal, infringing, or designed to circumvent our safety guardrails.
- Sharing accounts across families or commercial environments outside what your subscription tier allows.
- Misrepresenting your age, identity, or your relationship to a child user.
Accounts
Adults (18+) create the account; child profiles sit underneath the parent or guardian account. You're responsible for keeping login credentials secure and for the activity that happens on your account.
Intellectual property
All trademarks, mascots (Xplore), illustrations, software, and curated lesson content within the app are owned by getXplain.ai or its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your family's learning — nothing more.
Subscriptions & payments
Premium tiers are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Cancel any time from those stores' subscription settings — refunds follow each store's policy.
Subscriptions bought on getxplain.ai — on our pricing page or a school offer page (getxplain.ai/<school>) — are billed by card and renew automatically at the price and interval shown on the page — every month, every 6 months or every year — until you cancel. You can cancel any time by contacting us, or for school offers from the "Manage or cancel" link in your confirmation email. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
A full refund is available if you ask within 3 days of your first charge, as long as no AI feature was used and no new profile was added after that charge. Otherwise all payments are non-refundable, including renewals and partially used periods. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Free features remain fully usable; we never gate child safety behind a paywall.
Disclaimer & liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. AI-generated explanations are designed to be educational and accurate, but should not be relied on for medical, legal, or financial decisions. Features may change or be temporarily unavailable for maintenance.
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Modifications & termination
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date always reflects the latest revision. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a safety risk to other users.
You can close your account at any time from the app's settings, or by emailing support@getxplain.ai.
