No ads. No data games. No creepy tracking. If I wouldn’t hand the screen to my own daughter, it doesn’t ship.
I’m building getXplain.ai so that every curious kid — starting with my own daughter — can ask anything and get an answer that’s clear, safe, and a little bit magical. This is my life’s work: education that feels like wonder, not homework.
“Baba, why…?” — my daughter asked one evening, and I was too deep in a release to give her the answer she deserved.
I searched for a tool that could explain things to her the way a patient tutor would — safe, kid-friendly, and actually engaging. I couldn’t find one. So I built it.
getXplain.ai is the answer to that evening. A place where curious kids can ask anything, get an age-appropriate explanation they can understand, and parents can trust what’s on the screen. Education is the most important thing we leave behind — it should feel like magic, not a chore.
Every chapter taught me something I needed to build getXplain.ai. Here’s the shortest honest version.
I grew up asking too many questions and getting too few satisfying answers. The internet was thrilling, but it was rarely made for a kid who just wanted to understand.
Computer science at the University of Hertfordshire, then a decade shipping production systems — from small startups to teams that couldn’t afford to go down. I learned that craft is quiet and compounds.
Years of leading engineering across Cairo, London and Cambridge taught me the thing I care about most: people learn fastest when they feel safe, seen, and a little bit inspired. Turns out kids are exactly the same.
A question from my daughter became a mission: a calm, kid-safe place where every why? gets the answer it deserves. I stopped consulting to go all-in. Best decision I’ve ever made.
Not features. Principles. The things I will never trade away, no matter how tempting the shortcut.
No ads. No data games. No creepy tracking. If I wouldn’t hand the screen to my own daughter, it doesn’t ship.
We don’t chase streaks or addiction loops. We chase the moment a child says “wait, tell me more” — and we build for that, nothing else.
A good answer is one a child repeats to their friend. If we need jargon, we failed. Plain words, warm voice, real understanding.
Parents trust us with the most precious audience in their home. That trust is earned one quiet, respectful decision at a time — and never taken for granted.
Languages, cultures, abilities, neighbourhoods. Curiosity is universal — our product should be too. Inclusion is a feature, not a footnote.
Wonder isn’t an accident. It’s the result of obsessive craft — in the words, the voice, the pacing, the silence between questions. We sweat that stuff so the child doesn’t have to.
I’m a dad first. I know the feeling of a small face looking up with a question you don’t have time — or the right words — to answer. I’ve been there, many evenings, and I’ve felt the small quiet guilt of saying “not now, habibti.”
getXplain.ai is the answer I wish I’d had. Not a babysitter. Not a replacement for you. A kind, patient co-pilot that meets your child where they are, at their pace, in their language, and hands the curiosity back bigger than it came in.
